Varsity, strictly speaking, is a shortened version of the word university and is usually related to a sporting activity. It's use dates back to the United Kingdom of the 1840s.

We wanted to create a sporty look, reminiscent of a jacket that might be worn to a varsity competition. Think soccer, crew, field hockey. It was always going to be fleece, double-thickness fleece, reversible. Soft, warm. Bold color combinations on one side reversing to a solid color.
